Make your own copy

On the dashboard, use Make a personal copy on a shared document or folder. Review the storage estimate, then confirm the copy.

The copy belongs to your account and includes the referenced local packages and their discovered transitive dependencies. If required dependencies are missing, copying stops rather than leaving an incomplete result.

What starts fresh

The new copy has fresh ownership and history. It does not inherit sharing, public links, comments, suggestion tracking records, or Git credentials/state.

Saved proposed text is retained, so review the source and compiled result even though the old suggestion records are not copied.

Edit the copied packages

Open Local packages → This project to work with the copy’s package snapshots. Open a package source, edit it, then explicitly publish changes back to the host document.

Saving the source project alone does not publish a new package snapshot. Add packages to My library only when you want account-wide reuse; replacing conflicting versions requires confirmation.

The independent snapshots count toward the copy owner’s storage. Editable package source projects use additional storage.
