AI in the editor

Account and server required

AI tools depend on your instance’s configuration and account access. They send relevant document content to the configured server-side AI service. Use them only for material you are permitted to share with that service.

Tylor also supports external agents through the CLI and skill. See work with your agent for that workflow. This page covers the built-in editor tools.

Use Assist on a passage

Select text and open Assist. Choose a task such as fixing grammar, shortening, translating, or rewriting. Review the returned suggestion before accepting it.

Be specific about what should stay unchanged: terminology, citations, numeric results, or the meaning of an argument.

Ask about the project

Open the Ask panel to ask questions grounded in your project files. Its Edit mode can propose changes from a description, such as reorganizing a section or adjusting a table.

Available document-wide tools include proofreading, summaries, peer review, and layout review. Use the action that matches the question you want answered.

Review the result

1. Read the proposed change in context.
2. Check claims, citations, numbers, and specialist terminology against your sources.
3. Check that the document still compiles and the pages look right.
4. Accept useful changes and reject the rest.

Compiler checks help catch syntax problems; they do not establish factual correctness. Pending AI suggestions also appear in the proposed preview result. See comments and suggested changes.
